Get more engagement with Video

The further along we get into 2014, we are having to find even more ways to interact with customers digitally. Social media platforms are great for gaining insights into how customers interact with brands & products, now more than ever. These insights often lead to new and exciting ways of engaging with customers and getting them to interact with new products & promotions.

One of the best ways to engage with customers at the moment is through video content. So naturally, this leads to the big question of are you utilizing video to interact and engage with new and existing customers?

If you are, then great, that’s the first step! If not that’s okay too. It just means that it is time for you to start! As they say, a picture tells a thousand words and video can explain a whole lot more. In fact, people are willing to spend an average of 2.7 minutes watching a video online as opposed to the few seconds they will spend evaluating a website.

This basically means that there never been a better time to set up a company YouTube channel and start using video content as part of your digital strategies.
For those of you who have done that, you may be wondering what’s next?

The answer is Google Engagement Ads. Engagement Ads are run by Google and is a fairly new advertising format that lets you connect with new and existing consumers by displaying video content in a number of different advertising formats.

Advertising options include:

Lightbox Ads – Let you put beautiful creatives, videos, YouTube Mastheads, or Google Catalogs in front of interested users.

Standard Expandable ads – Allow similar functionality at an even greater scale by fitting into the most popular IAB ad sizes across the web.

Hover-over ads – Display still banners but when hovered over with mouse cursor displays video.

The first step is to grab that video camera and start getting your videos together for your YouTube channel. Once your YouTube channel is established, then link it to your AdWords account via AdWords for Video. It’s that easy! So don’t hesitate – get a video together, create your Youtube channel and move into the new world of engaging customers via video.
